SVAZ ZÁCHRANNÝCH BRIGÁD KYNOLOGÙ ÈR (Union
of canine rescue squads of the Czech
Republic) is a society which deals with
rescue works using specially trained dogs.
Their training is directed to searching for
living or dead persons in various
environments. During winter it concerns
particularly searching for persons sunken in
snow or avalanche victims, during summer it
concerns searching for persons lost in
unapproachable terrains, mainly children or
aged persons. A specific work is the newest
branch of rescue cynology, which is
searching for drowned persons under water
surface with the aid of boats while the dog
is lying on the bow and localizes the
drowned person by scenting.
This
special type of training is led by South
Bohemian branch, which organizes training
courses of water rescue work every year. The
rescue dogs training is, however, focused on
searching for victims cluttered up with
wreckage of any type. In the central Europe,
that means mainly searching in downfallen
houses after gas explosions, ruined
buildings, average settlement etc. When
providing help abroad, it concerns
particularly rescues after earthquakes, such
as in 1999 in Turkey or in Taiwan. Our
organization cooperates with fire brigades,
police and other organizations such as
mountain rescue brigades, water rescue
brigades, air rescue brigades, Adra, Czech
organization of Red Cross etc.
SVAZ ZÁCHRANNÝCH BRIGÁD KYNOLOGÙ ÈR is
divided into regional branches working in
the respective regional territories. Their
work is controlled by the presidium of the
Svaz, which is elected once every 4 years by
general assembly. The executive body is the
general committee which has 5 members. The
best trained members of the Svaz constitute
the emergency squad which is able to
intervene in the Czech Republic or abroad at
any time. For these purposes, the dogs and
the handlers are trained in skills, in
psychology basics and also physically
trained.
